Before you write
Include your Chrome version, operating system, RightTab version from Chrome’s Extensions page, what you expected and what happened. A screenshot can help; hide private titles, addresses, tasks and meeting details first. Never send passwords or authentication tokens.
How do I open RightTab?
Open a new Chrome tab. For the side panel, open Chrome’s Extensions menu, pin RightTab and click its toolbar icon. RightTab replaces the new tab page; it does not change your default search engine.
Will it rearrange my Chrome tabs automatically?
Cards group pages by website inside RightTab. Native Chrome grouping is optional and off by default. Use Settings to try it when you want the tab strip organized as well.
How do tasks work?
Use Add tab to tasks on a tab row. Name the task, attach more pages if useful, and mark it complete when finished. Tasks are saved locally across Chrome restarts.
What does snoozing do?
Snoozing closes a tab and schedules its return in 15 minutes, one hour, three hours or at 09:00 tomorrow. A delayed browser or closed Chrome can postpone reopening until Chrome runs again.
Why does RightTab ask for history or website access?
History import and frequent sites are optional. Media controls and Picture-in-Picture need access to the selected supported website. Google suggestions need separate access and send typed queries to Google. Read Privacy for the complete account.
Why will a video not play in the background?
Some sites block remote playback, protected media or Picture-in-Picture. Open the source tab once, start playback, and try again. Discarded tabs can need to be loaded first.
Can I change the language?
Choose Settings → Language in RightTab. English, Ukrainian, Russian, French, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, German, Czech, Polish and Brazilian Portuguese are included. Browser language falls back to English when unsupported.
How do I remove data or restore the previous new tab page?
Remove individual tasks and recent items in RightTab, or remove a visited-site icon from its context menu. To restore Chrome’s new tab page and remove extension storage, uninstall RightTab from Chrome’s Extensions settings. Your normal browser tabs and Chrome history are separate.
