Privacy Policy · Updated October 19, 2026
Your workspace.
A clear account of its data.
This policy covers the RightTab Chrome extension version 0.7.0 and these RightTab website pages. RightTab is made by Yurii Ugarov, publishing as Another Good Way. Contact yuraugarov@gmail.com with privacy questions or requests.
What RightTab handles and why
- Tabs and browsing activity: page addresses, titles, favicons, window and group details, pinned state, activation, last-use times and audible or media state. RightTab uses these to display and group tabs, switch windows, identify duplicates and inactive pages, and offer cleanup and live context.
- Recent visits and visited sites: recent page addresses, titles and timestamps support returning to pages. A separate visited-site catalog stores site roots, without paths, query strings, fragments or page titles. Optional Chrome history access imports site roots from history retained by Chrome and can keep that catalog updated.
- Tasks, snoozes and restoration: task text you enter, related tab snapshots, snooze times and positions, and saved window/tab snapshots support tasks, scheduled reopening and session restoration.
- Page content for integrations: supported media controls inspect player state. Google Meet context and microphone controls inspect the call interface. Google Calendar context reads visible event information needed to show a relevant meeting, which can include its title and time. RightTab does not record meeting audio, video or conversations.
- Email-related tab metadata: task suggestions can use the title and address of an open email conversation, including its subject. RightTab does not read the message body for these suggestions.
- Preferences and drafts: language, display and behavior settings, card order, dismissals and unfinished search/task text keep the interface consistent and preserve work between RightTab surfaces.
RightTab does not ask for a RightTab account, run an analytics or advertising service, sell browser data, or use it for advertising, credit decisions or unrelated profiling.
Where information is stored
Workspace records are processed in Chrome and saved in the extension’s local or session storage. Preferences use Chrome’s storage.sync API and may be transferred by Chrome Sync when you enable it. This does not provide RightTab cloud backup of your tasks or browser workspace. Session-only records, such as temporary activation and playlist state, last for the browser session. Private-window contexts are excluded from persistent workspace records.
Recent page records are bounded to 120 entries and up to 45 days. Visited-site roots and their dismissals have no automatic expiry. Tasks remain until you remove or complete them; snooze, restore and interface records remain as needed for those features or until replaced, removed or the extension’s data is cleared. No application encryption beyond Chrome and device protections is promised.
External connections
- Google suggestions, optional: after you grant access, typed search queries and the selected locale are sent over HTTPS to www.google.com for suggestions.
- Search and navigation: submitted searches go to your default search provider. Opening a saved page or website sends an ordinary browser request to that destination.
- Unsplash backgrounds, optional: enabling this setting loads selected background images over HTTPS from images.unsplash.com.
- Clock font: the interface can load a font over HTTPS from cdn.jsdelivr.net.
- Website hosting and support: these website pages are hosted on Vercel. Its infrastructure processes ordinary request information, such as IP address, user agent and requested path, to deliver and protect the website. If you email support, Google’s email infrastructure and the developer receive your email address and the content you choose to send.
External providers receive ordinary network information, including your IP address and request headers. Their own privacy policies apply to their services: Google, Unsplash, jsDelivr and Vercel. Tab and task records are not uploaded to a RightTab server. RightTab does not include remote executable JavaScript.
Permissions and your choices
Tabs and tabGroups support organizing and controlling the browser workspace. Storage saves settings and workspace records. Sessions supplies recently closed items. Alarms restore snoozed pages. SidePanel opens the workspace beside your current page. Favicon supplies site icons. Search submits queries through your default provider. Scripting and the declared Meet/Calendar website access support the integrations described above.
History and topSites are optional. Additional website permissions for media/Picture-in-Picture and www.google.com for suggestions are requested separately. The broad optional HTTP/HTTPS declaration lets you approve the specific supported website you want to control; it does not grant access to every website at installation. Review or revoke site access in Chrome’s extension settings. Turn off optional features in RightTab Settings.
Access, removal and support
You can inspect tasks, recent pages and the visited-site catalog in RightTab. Remove a task, dismiss a recent page, or choose Remove site from a catalog icon’s context menu. Removing a catalog site does not erase Chrome history or its other recent-page records. Deleting Chrome history does not automatically erase RightTab’s saved catalog or task links. Uninstalling the extension removes its extension storage in Chrome; copies in device backups or Chrome Sync may be subject to those services’ settings.
For support, send only the information needed to reproduce an issue. Hide private tab titles, addresses, tasks and meeting details in screenshots. Support correspondence is used to answer your request and retained while the issue or related support need remains; you may request deletion by email. Do not send passwords, authentication tokens or payment-card information.
Limited Use and changes
RightTab’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide the disclosed workspace features. The developer does not receive or read your locally stored browser workspace through the extension. Information you voluntarily send for support is used for that request.
Changes to data practices will be reflected here with an updated date and, where required, disclosed in the extension before taking effect. For questions about this policy or your data, email yuraugarov@gmail.com.
